VISITORS' DAY

VISITORS' DAY IS SATURDAY, JULY 24th & SUNDAY, JULY 25th

We have scheduled Visitors' Day in hopes of welcoming all our campers' families to camp this summer and showing them first hand what an incredible place Solelim is. Please note that Visitors' Day is subject to change or cancellation depending on the COVID-19 health situation. Parents will be given as much notice as possible so they will be able to cancel any reservations in advance.

We know that the drive up to camp is long, which is why we schedule our Visitors' Day over a full weekend. Our dual day schedule allows for families to visit camp, spend some quality one-on-one time with their Solelim campers and meet our incredible staff.

If there are special circumstances that prevent you from visiting on the designated dates, please contact the office and we will be happy to try to schedule alternative arrangements. We encourage parents who observe Shabbat to contact our office to discuss options for walking into camp (approximately 1.5-2 hours).

Please note that there is no parking at Camp Solelim during Visitors' Day Weekend. Visitors and campers will be shuttled to and from camp via bus service.

SATURDAY, JULY 24TH

All visitors will be bused to camp from Sudbury Four Corners Plaza located on Regent Street South (please meet in front of Food Basics Supermarket). The shuttle service will start at 6:00 PM. Visitors will be bussed back to Four Corners Plaza at 9:30 PM.

During the evening, visitors will have the opportunity to tour camp, participate in various activities, meet with staff and enjoy refreshments in our Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall). Campers will participate in a short program for all visitors on the basketball courts followed by optional performances by various music and dance groups in our Ulam (Main Hall).

Campers are not allowed to sleep out of camp on Saturday night.

SUNDAY, JULY 25TH

Campers will be dropped off at Sudbury Four Corners (in front of Food Basics Supermarket) at 9:00 AM.

Campers will be picked up from Four Corners at 2:45 PM and bussed back to camp.

Campers who do not have visitors will be supervised by our staff members. Alternatively, parents can arrange for their children to accompany another family; please let our office know of any alternate arrangements you will be making for your child.

TIPS FOR VISITORS' DAY: WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU TO CAMP!

  • Please do not bring and/or send any food, cell phones or other items from our Do Not Pack List into camp. Items found will be confiscated.

  • Please help keep Solelim clean (and bear free!) by placing garbage in the appropriate receptacles and paper, cans or bottles in our camp’s recycling bins.

  • Our staff work as a team. Please do not tip camp staff. In our experience, kind words and/or a note go farther than any gift.

  • Camp Solelim is a smoke free environment. Thank you for not smoking on our camp site.

  • Thank you for keeping your dog on a leash and providing any necessary scooping of poop.

  • We ask that you respect our end time of 2:45 PM and begin your goodbyes at 2:30 PM so that we can transition back to regular camp programming.

 WHERE TO STAY IN SUDBURY

Please note that due to some hotel policies, discount codes are only available for multiple night stays. Camp Solelim does its best to secure favourable rates for the families of our campers, but we have no control over any terms and conditions determined by hotel administration, including access to late checkout and other special accommodations.
