At Solelim, there is no such thing as an ordinary day. Browse through our activities to see how much fun our campers have!
Football, basketball, floor hockey, baseball, volleyball, weight training, fitness, yoga and running are available through our many athletic electives or during free time.
Waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water trampoline, water polo and beach games can be enjoyed during electives or daily camp-wide General Swim. Campers can also elect to take their Bronze Med or Cross certifications .
Learn to play or jam with friends on acoustic or electric guitar, keyboard, bass and drums; paint, bead, sculpt, tie dye, make your own jewelry and clothes in arts and crafts; or dance, sing and perform in our drama and dance programs.
Our campers love to get into our summer intramural football league. Join a team and seek glory on the field or join the crowd watching on the sidelines.
SOLELIM FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Learn scouting, navigation, outdoor cooking and other wilderness skills. Our tripping program offers campers of all skill levels the chance to explore Ontario's incredible national parks.
There's nothing generic about our nightly programming. We bring back favourites like Coffee House, Casino Night and Dancing with the Staff each summer, but most of our evening programs are developed from scratch by our creative staff.
Every year, campers look forward to special programming days including Maccabia (Colour War), Israel Day and the Northern Lights Music Festival. During Rookie and Post Week, each unit has the chance to bond by doing fun and interesting programs together.
Outwit, outplay, outlast on Survivor, dazzle the judges' tastebuds on Hell's Kitchen, fight like a knight on LAIRE, sprint to victory in the Amazing Race, or show off your skills in our Arts, Athletic or Academic Decathlons. Go for glory and celebrate what makes you unique!
Campers look forward to weekly leadership workshops that build teamwork, communication and perseverance. Alumni credit these programs with helping them find their voice and gaining the confidence to take on leadership roles in school, work and volunteering.
It's the smell of fresh baked challah from the chadar. It's watching the sunset from the beach with your arms around your best friends. It's losing your voice singing songs at the top of your lungs and then dancing until you can't feel your feet anymore. It's Saturday morning sleep-ins and cinnamon buns. It's taking the time to reflect on all you accomplished last week and looking forward to what lies ahead. Shabbat at Solelim is about forming your own special traditions and feeling a part of something bigger.
At Solelim, we don’t “teach” Israel: we experience it with all our senses. The sounds of Israeli top 40 echoing through the campsite. The colourful building signs in Hebrew and in English. The smell of zatar sprinkled on top of pita roasted over an open campfire. Learning matkot on the beach. Israel at camp is our beloved Israeli staff and campers who connect us with contemporary music, film, dance, cuisine and culture. It is the everlasting friendships and the feeling of having family no matter which continent you live on.
