Camp Solelim is lucky to have Shauna Waltman as its Camp Director!
Shauna has a business degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List. As one of six recipients of the prestigious iCenter Fellowships, she also holds a Masters in Jewish Professional Studies from Spertus College and a Certificate in Experiential Jewish Education from The Institute of Experiential Jewish Education.
Shauna has worked in the field of Israel Experience and Education since 2004. As Director of Education for Canada Israel Experience, she trained leaders and designed programming to engage more than 2500 young adults annually on transformative Jewish experiences such as Birthright Israel and March of the Living.
A former camper at Young Judaean camps (Shalom and Kadimah), Shauna brought her wealth of knowledge and experience working with young adults to Camp Solelim when she became Director in 2015. She is passionate about using her skills in programming and community engagement to make camp fun and memorable while developing young leaders who feel a profound sense of belonging and community. Through innovative programs and story telling, she is also a specialist at nurturing campers' connections with Jewish values and Israel.
Shauna is married to fellow Judaean and Camp Solelim alumnus, Jeremy Bornstein, and has two adorable children, Hannah and Judah, who cannot wait to be Solelimniks.
